Feeling like a Boss

I recently bought this gorgeous pink set from Torrid, and let me tell you...I feel like an absolute boss in it.

Now, according to traditional fashion advice, it probably isn't the most "flattering" outfit I own. It's not cut to hug every curve. It doesn't cinch my waist to perfection. It isn't trying to create the illusion of a smaller body.

And honestly?

That's exactly why I love it.

For so long, I shopped with one goal in mind: finding clothes that made me look thinner. Every outfit had to be slimming, flattering, or somehow disguise the fact that I existed in a plus-size body.

But this pink set doesn't do any of that.

Instead, it's polished, comfortable, powerful, and fun.

When I put it on, I don't think about whether it makes me look smaller. I think about how confident I feel. I think about how the bright pink color makes me smile. I think about how comfortable I am while still looking put together. I think about how I walk a little taller when I'm wearing it.

And isn't that what great fashion is supposed to do?

Not every piece of clothing needs to sculpt your body. Not every outfit needs to highlight your curves. Sometimes an outfit's job is simply to make you feel good.

This set reminds me that style is about so much more than "flattering." It's about personality. It's about confidence. It's about wearing something that feels like you.

So if you've been avoiding a piece because it doesn't perfectly accentuate every curve or because someone told you it isn't the most flattering option, consider giving it another chance.

You might be surprised by how empowering it feels to wear something simply because you love it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get some pictures in this outfit ASAP because this pink power suit deserves its moment.

Have you ever bought an outfit that made you feel unstoppable the second you put it on? Let me know in the comments!

I LOVE how you have found what truly makes you happy and are applying it to your clothes. Once I stopped caring about "flattering" the more I found options that made me love my body!

Thank you! That was such a game changer for me too. The moment I stopped dressing for "flattering" and started dressing for joy, confidence, and personal style, getting dressed became so much more fun. It's amazing how much more you can appreciate your body when you're focused on expressing yourself instead of trying to hide parts of yourself.
