In My Brooch Era

I have a confession to make.

I'm just not a necklace person.

I've tried.

I really have.

I own a nice little collection that I keep telling myself I'll wear more often.

But every time I put one on, the same thing happens.

It starts irritating my skin.

Or I get hot and suddenly it's sticking to me.

Or it twists around backward every five minutes.

Or somehow it finds its way into my hair and creates a tiny knot that takes half the day to untangle.

It's exhausting.

Now don't get me wrong.

Necklaces are beautiful.

I love them on other people.

I just don't particularly love them on me.

Lately, though, I've discovered an accessory that deserves far more attention.

Brooches.

I am officially in my brooch era.

There's something so charming about them.

They instantly make an outfit feel intentional.

A simple cardigan?

Add a brooch.

A blazer?

Perfect.

A denim jacket?

Even better.

A sweater?

Absolutely.

It's such a small detail, but it completely elevates an outfit.

And as someone who loves antique shopping, brooches are everywhere.

Every antique mall seems to have a little jewelry case filled with tiny treasures just waiting to be discovered.

Flowers.

Birds.

Bees.

Vintage rhinestones.

Whimsical mushrooms.

Elegant gold pieces.

Quirky conversation starters.

I find myself drawn to all of them.

I love that every brooch has a little personality.

Some feel timeless.

Some are delightfully over-the-top.

Some make me laugh.

Some look like they belonged to someone's glamorous grandmother, and honestly, that's exactly the vibe I'm going for.

The best part?

No tangled chains.

No sweaty neck.

No hair getting caught.

Just a little sparkle exactly where I want it.

I think brooches are one of fashion's most underrated accessories.

They've somehow gotten a reputation for being old-fashioned, but I think they're making a quiet comeback.

Or maybe I'm just determined to bring them back myself.

Either way, I'm having fun with it.

Fashion doesn't always have to be about following trends.

For me, right now, that's brooches.
