A Hidden Gem: Oasis at the Mill

Every now and then, you stumble across a place that feels special from the moment you walk through the door.
For me, that place is Oasis at the Mill. Not far from downtown Winston-Salem.
It's one of those rare spaces that immediately makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully curated in a way that encourages you to slow down and simply enjoy being there.
Of course, the tea is incredible.
Whether you're a longtime tea enthusiast or just beginning to explore beyond the basics, there is something for everyone. The blends are delicious, the selection is thoughtfully chosen, and it's impossible not to leave wanting to try something new.
The shop itself is equally charming. From beautiful tea accessories to unique blends and gifts, it's the kind of place where you wander a little longer than you intended because there is always something interesting to discover.
But what truly makes Oasis at the Mill stand out is the community it creates.
The classes and events offered there are some of the most meaningful experiences I've participated in. I've attended dry needling and breathwork sessions with the wonderful Carolyn Bowers, and each experience has been thoughtful, restorative, and incredibly beneficial.
One of my personal favorites has been the Gemstone Wellness: Tea & Somatic Movement Experience. It combines so many things I love—mindful movement, wellness, connection, and tea—into an experience that feels both grounding and refreshing. It's the kind of event that leaves you feeling better than when you arrived.
And then there's the owner. Zachari.
In a world where customer service can often feel rushed or transactional, interacting with him is an absolute joy. He is kind, welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about creating a space where people feel comfortable and connected.
You can tell he cares deeply about the experience people have when they visit, and that care is reflected in every detail of the business.
Whether you're stopping by for a cup of tea, shopping for a new blend, attending a wellness event, or simply looking for a peaceful place to spend some time, Oasis at the Mill offers something truly special.
It's more than a tea shop.
It's a community.
And every time I visit, I'm reminded why I keep coming back.
Some places sell tea.
Oasis at the Mill creates experiences.
