Discovering a Part of My Health I Never Thought About

A bit ago, I had the opportunity to attend a pelvic floor workshop at Taylor Physical Therapy & Wellness, and honestly, it was one of those experiences that leaves you wondering why nobody talks about this stuff more often.
Like many people, I rarely thought about my pelvic floor.
In fact, unless someone specifically brought it up, I probably never thought about it at all.
But after attending the workshop, I quickly realized how much this often-overlooked area of the body impacts our daily lives.
The workshop was informative, approachable, and filled with practical information that made complex topics feel easy to understand. Instead of feeling intimidating or overly clinical, it felt empowering. I left with a much better understanding of how the pelvic floor functions and why it deserves far more attention than most of us give it.
One of my favorite things about the experience was how welcoming and educational the environment felt. There was no judgment, no awkwardness, and no assumption that participants should already know this information.
It was simply an opportunity to learn more about our bodies.
And honestly, I learned a lot.
As an added bonus, I somehow won a free massage during the event.
Unfortunately, work had other plans for me, and I wasn't able to schedule it myself.
Thankfully, my sister was more than happy to step in as my substitute.
The sacrifice she made was truly heroic.
And according to her, the massage experience was wonderful.
So while I didn't personally get to enjoy that particular prize, I did get a glowing review from someone I trust.
What I appreciate most about experiences like this is that they remind me how much there still is to learn about wellness.
Health isn't just about the things we hear about every day.
It's also about understanding the parts of our bodies we often overlook.
The systems that quietly support us.
The topics that don't always make it into everyday conversations.
The areas where a little education can make a huge difference.
Attending this workshop sparked a curiosity I didn't know I had, and it's encouraged me to explore more of what Taylor Physical Therapy & Wellness has to offer.
Because if I gained this much insight from one workshop, I can only imagine what else I might learn.
That's one of my favorite feelings.
Walking into something knowing very little and leaving with a completely new perspective.
I may have shown up for a workshop.
But I left with a deeper appreciation for a part of my health I had barely considered before.
